What Happens at a Headshot Booth?
A headshot booth typically has a backdrop, a few lights, and something called a reflector that sits in front of where you stand. We also provide a posing mat, which we ask you to stand on, and we cycle you through a few different poses so you end up with a variety of photos to choose from. We usually have you in and out in under two minutes, and that includes introductions, so if you are on a break you will be back in time for the next thing on the program.
Headshot stations are quite popular, so there is often a line, and that wait is not wasted. While you are in it you can take a moment and use any of our prep materials, like the mirror, the lint roller, and the blotting sheets, so that when it is your turn you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
After we take your headshots, we send you a link so you can review your photos and decide which one you would like us to retouch and send back to you.
What if I don't know how to pose?
Almost nobody does, and that is completely fine. We give direction the entire time, so you never have to figure out what to do with your hands or decide on the spot how much to smile. That part is our job, not yours.
What Kind of Events Are Headshot Booths Good For?
Events such as business conferences, association and chamber events, and leadership gatherings are prime candidates for headshot booths. These events are typically filled with busy business people who value a professional headshot but may not have gotten around to it lately, so they will really appreciate you having one at the event.
We ran the headshot station at the Blue Rock Financial Group Business Owner Summit in Dewey Beach, an event with roughly 200 Delaware business owners in the room. About half the attendees got their headshot that day, and the feedback afterward was positive across the board. The event organizer told us it was a great addition and that it really gave attendees something to do other than just mingle.

What Does Your Venue Need for a Headshot Booth?
A venue needs a few things: a 10' x 10' spot for the headshot booth, which is the optimal footprint, access to power, enough room for a line of people to form, and proximity to the main area so that people can easily get their headshot in between sessions.
We walk through the specifics with you on a consultation before the event, so there are no surprises on the day and you are not the one working out where the extension cords go.
Why Do Attendees Like Headshot Booths So Much?
Attendees like headshot booths because they walk away with a tangible asset they can use to elevate their online presence. They also get to check off that lingering to-do that has been sitting in the back of their mind and finally update their LinkedIn profile.
They do not have to schedule anything or book a separate appointment, since they are already in the building and already dressed for a room full of colleagues. The whole thing takes a couple of minutes out of a break, and it costs them nothing because you have already covered it.
People care about how they look, so they really appreciate that they can choose their own picture instead of the photographer choosing for them. This little move makes a BIG difference.
Is a Headshot Booth Right for Your Event?
If your attendees are professionals who would use a good headshot, a booth gives them something genuinely useful that they did not expect to get. If your event is a celebration and what you really want is people laughing behind a pair of oversized sunglasses, a photo booth is the better call, and we will tell you so.
You do not need to have the logistics worked out before you ask, because figuring out the space, the timing, and the flow is our part.
